Dogū, meaning "earthen figure" are tiny figurines created in prehistoric Japan during the Jomon Period (14,000 - 400 BC). This particular figure is a Shakoki-dogū type, or 'goggle-eyed' dogū, are was likely created between 1000-400 BCE.
